Paddy is the Energy & Carbon Manager for the Bank of England, and a Chartered Engineer. With a background in energy consulting Paddy has been working in the sustainability field for nearly 20 years in a range of industries, and all over the world.
Paddy is responsible for managing the Bank’s operational energy use and carbon footprint, and has and recently led in the development a smart building strategy for the Bank.
Having worked in energy for many years, improving system automation has often been a route to improved energy performance. The journey from energy automation to smart building has been a natural extension, focussing on improved data capture and automated analysis, as well as leveraging the latest advances in smart technologies. That intersection of cutting edge technologies as well as improved performance and capabilities is often a fascinating place to be – and keeps the job interesting.
