Keith is the HS&E Leader for LOR Infrastructure responsible for the performance of several major infrastructure projects across the UK including Rail, Water and Power Sectors, HS2, Hinkley, Crossrail and Thames Tideway. In order to achieve this Keith is playing a leading role in the implementation of LOR’s Next Gear (Safety Differently) ethos; focussing on people as the solution, on positives not the absence of negatives and on reducing bureaucracy.
Keith is also responsible for a team of 40+ HS&E professionals who are spread across the UK and is working to not only influence the traditional thinking of operational staff and the workforce but also of his team.
Keith has a depth of knowledge and experience in the construction industry where he started as a Civil Engineer progressing to MICE status through his lead engineering role at Terminal 5. He has operated as a Project Leader before finding his true vocation in HS&E Risk Management.
He left LOR to join Balfour Beatty in 2013 and also spent six months as the H&S leader for UKCG / Build UK but returned to LOR in 2017 for a new challenge. He has in-depth experience in CDM15, in HS&E Leadership, Behavioural Safety and in the development and implementation of Health, Safety & Environmental management systems including ensuring all projects for which he is responsible, satisfy their legal duties and but also go beyond them in apply the Next Gear principles.
